A bird which is not shy and quite a poser. Found it on the side of the road along a slow moving stream in the outskirts of Corbett. An interesting fact from wiki - It used to be placed in the family of the fantails, but DNA analysis has shown it to be a close relative of the fairy flycatcher.
Gazelles (Chinkara) in the countryside on the way to Bikaner
While on the way to Bikaner, you will find plenty of gazelles on the fields on either side of the road. These are open grasslands and scrublands which are well suited to the chinkara. An absolute delight to watch.
Chestnut-bellied sandgrouse (Female)
Though they are found in hot and arid climates, they are extremely dependent on water and can travel as much as 80km in a day in search of it.
Chinkara / Indian gazelle
Subject very soft, but I like the colors. Driving down on Jaisalmer road, it's rather difficult to believe that there will be a sanctuary with this much life close by.
