Definitely not scary to see how thin the sheet of ice you're walking on actually is. :P
What you see is what you get here. Given the extreme temperatures and rugged landscape, it's quite a thrill to see how far you can be pushed and how much you're willing to take.
Take my word for it though - you'll be surprised by how tough you can be when situation calls for it! :)
Siddhartha Naidu A trek that's definitely one of a kind! But the rate at which the ice is melting, I don't think it'll survive even the next 5 years :/
What was supposed to be a sunny day for us in Zanskar Valley looked a little something like this! :)
Goecha La isn't a teahouse trek. You'll need a porter and guide and will have to carry all your equipment and requirements from Yuksom itself, nothing will be available on the way. Here's the sherpa I went with - Norbu: +91 70763 41507. I would highly recommend him.
It's quite a challenge walking through these thorny shrubs. They itch, none the less, a small price to pay when a view like that awaits :)
Rachit Mehta I remember walking through this too!
Zahra Contractor This is quite an underrated trek according to me.
C Parivesh That's true! You get to walk through such contrasting landscapes.
Tashi Vaid Gorgeous place!
Mohit Pandya The ice looks awfully thin to be walking on! Looks scary, but fun :P
Sameer Vaid Beautiful capture
Arjun Dhanraj Beautiful!
