It's a beautiful hill fort near Lonavala. Simple enough climb and i chose a good day to go here, when there were hardly any people. The view of Aamby Valley from the top is lovely as well. Was lucky enough to catch plenty of malabar whistling thrushes along with sightings of eurasian blackbird and crested bunting.
Contrary to popular belief, this little town has so much more to offer than just easy availability of "herbs" and rave parties. The locals hate the reputation the place has been associated with due to what tourists have made it out to be.
Nonetheless, the beauty of Kasol is lost on no one. :)
For us, it was more about the journey than the destination, but we did step into the "Tiger's Lair" nonetheless. Perched at the edge of a cliff at 3100 m, the sight from the monastery was quite rewarding to see how high we'd come!
