Barking deer from top of watch tower in Corbett National Park
The best part about staying in forest rest houses in Corbett is that you can get dropped at any of the watch towers and observe unsuspecting wildlife. Its quite difficult to get a chance to observe barking deers, usually they just run at first sight. On this occasion, i watched it for a good 20-30 minutes as it went about feeding and moving cautiously... ever so alert. Obviously you have to stay put in the watch tower and your safari driver will have to drop and pick you up, but that should be easily managed. Sometimes, you may just get to see amazing things. Irrespective of that, i love spending any amount of time on these watchtowers.
