Binsar FRH
A lovely place, great birding, beautiful treks and trails with a lovely view of the Himalayan range. It's located right at the end of Binsar, next to the KMVN guest house. There are lots of amazing accommodation options in Binsar, but most of them are all quite pricey. The FRH is the most reasonable and probably the best location (even for views of the range). For food, you need to carry your own supplies. Even then, like we did, you can always go to the adjacent KMVN guest house where they have buffets (again very reasonable). All in all, most recommended and a must visit.

Arijit Kanani Thanks Mohit. Don't entirely remember the name of the spot. But it's a little away from all the entry points to LRK, we had to travel about 30km.

There are 3 main entries to the Sanctuary - Dhrangadhra (approx. 120 kms from Ahmedabad), Bajana (approx. 100 kms from Ahmedabad) & Adesar (approx. 150 kms from Bhuj). Also, October to March is the best time to visit LRK.

Arijit Kanani The last I remember, Adesar wasn't all that developed and didn't look too tourist friendly. I suggest you stay in Bhuj instead!

Hunil is 90kms away from Roing and is one of the places we decided to go for birding. The The main area for birding here is on the 18 km downhill stretch from Hunli to the Ithun River bridge. Some of the birds we spotted on the stretch were Red-billed Leiothrix, Beautiful Nuthatch, Slaty-Backed Forktail (right along the road), a pair of Silver-Eared Mesias, and a mighty Rufous-Bellied Hawk Eagle.

Gulnar Vij Hey, how many days is enough to spend in Hunli?

Arijit Kanani 2-3 days should be enough! :) I spent that long.

Scarlet Minivet
Taken in Dec-2016 during a trip where I covered Sitla, Mukteshwar and Binsar - parts of Uttarakhand I always wanted to explore. These are some really good places for birding, and somewhat less popular too.
